Lagan Construction Group has recently been awarded four National Site Awards for the Considerate Constructors Scheme, presented to the highest performing registered sites. Every award-winning site has demonstrated a true commitment to considerate construction, and as a result, has greatly benefitted communities, the workforce and the environment.
The winners were:
- A8 Belfast to Larne – Gold Award
- A8 Belfast to Larne – Most Considerate Site Runner Up
- Suffolk EfW facility – Silver Award
- Cardiff EfW – Silver Award
The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) is the national initiative set up by the construction industry to improve its image. Construction sites and companies can register with the Scheme and are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.
The Scheme is concerned about any area of construction activity that may have a direct or indirect impact on the image of the industry as a whole. The main areas of concern fall into three categories: the general public, the workforce and the environment.
