Role Overview
To work effectively to assist in the leading of the team to deliver of the routine maintenance at the M8 Motorway Project.
What you'll do
The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:
• Carry out routine maintenance inspections as per preprogrammed requirements.
• Plan and delegate / assist with the day-to-day supervision and implementation of maintenance programmes relating to the road network and associated structures.
• Ensure that programmes of planned & preventive maintenance and works orders are implemented.
• Ensure that all maintenance equipment is inspected on a regular basis in accordance with statutory requirements and supplier guidelines.
• Hands-on implementation of the day-to-day Project Road maintenance requirements.
• Provide call-out cover to out-of-office hours emergency responses.
• Supervise routine maintenance activities (carry out maintenance when required) including but not limited to:
- Traffic Management
- Winter Maintenance including monitoring of the Vaisala ice detection system
- Emergency Response
- Structures Maintenance
- Incident Damage Repair
- Road Furniture Repair
- Landscaping / Grass cutting
- Litter picking
- General maintenance
• The successful candidate will be required to provide 24/7 on-call cover, on a rostered basis and work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
What you'll bring:
• A Civil Engineering Qualification.
• A Class C driving license.
• Safe Pass.
• Traffic management trained for High-Speed roads.
• Signing, Lighting and Guarding.
• H&S related training, including first aid, fire warden, manual handling.
• Experience of supervising/managing staff.
• Experience in implementing and enforcing company policies.
• Good communications skills, written and verbal.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Awareness of the occupational hazards associated with the full range of maintenance activities and knowledge of precaution’s necessary to control these hazards.
