Why this role stands out
As an Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high quality projects, working as a valued member of the H&J Martin Construction team. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors and internal teams, building strong relationships and playing a key role in pushing projects forward through accurate engineering, clear communication and a proactive approach. Working within a small team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of tasks and develop skills and experience to enhance your career. 

What you’ll do 
•    Assist in planning, supervising and inspecting of temporary works, ensuring safety and compliance. 
•    Accurately interpreting construction drawings and specifications and taking ownership in the implementation of Engineering Controls. 
•    Implement and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, monitoring and recording health and safety activities as required. 
•    Contribute to preparation and organisation of the programme for work, including resource allocation, permits, risk assessments and method statements
•    Liaise with clients, internal departments, subcontractors and other key stakeholders to ensure the project develops in line with plans and timeframes, with no compromise in quality and delivery
•    Manage site teams and subcontractors, ensuring written and verbal communication or instructions are clear and understood.

•    To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.


What you’ll bring
Essential:  
•    Foundation degree level or higher, in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
•    2 years experience in a similar role 
•    Confident in the use of IT, including construction related software such as AutoCAD. 
•    Proficient in the use of relevant surveying and setting out equipment. 
•    Full driving licence, that permits driving in the UK / Ireland

Desirable:  
•    CSR / CSCS Qualification or equivalent
•    Qualified First Aider
•    Qualified or working towards temporary  works co-ordinator
•    Qualified or working towards Appointed Person qualification
