H&J Martin Construction (part of Lagan Specialist Group) is one of Ireland’s longest standing and most successful Building Contractors. We have successfully contributed to the Built Heritage of Ireland, with the delivery of Iconic buildings such as the City Hall in Belfast, the Slieve Donard Hotel in County Down and Arnotts Department store in Dublin. Our contribution to Iconic sites has continued in recent times with the ongoing Development of the famous Kings Hall site in Belfast. Role Overview
The Forklift Operator and General Operative will report directly to the Site Manager and will carry out a number of duties necessary for the operation of the site.
What you’ll do
The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive.
• Distributing material
• Placing goods/material in the allocated location on ground and at high level
• Loading and unloading of deliveries via pallets
• Emptying forklift tipping skills
• Perform daily equipment checks (oil, tyres, battery, safety controls) and report defects.
• General labouring duties
• Maintaining Health & Safety standards on site
• Compliance with Health Safety & Environmental Policy
• Other ad hoc duties commensurate with this position

• Complete works within specified and agreed timescales
Key Relationships
You report directly to the Site Manager/Project Manager. It is essential that you maintain an effective working relationship which will assist in the efficient and effective management of the business. It is essential that you maintain an effective working relationship with the supply chain at site.
What you’ll bring
Essential:
• Recent and relevant forklift experience within the construction industry
• Must hold a relevant CSR / CPCS card and valid forklift license
• Strong working knowledge of HSQE legislation for the construction industry
• Possess high aptitude for attention to detail
• A proactive and flexible working approach with the ability to adapt to changing situations
• Experience of working in a fast-track project environment
