Who We Are
FK Lowry, part of the Lagan Specialist Group, has been delivering specialist piling solutions for over 35 years. As members of the Federation of Piling Specialists and a founding member of the Piling Contractors Association of Ireland (PCAI), we design and install CFA and rotary bored piling, retaining walls, driven piling and ground improvement systems for some of the region’s most significant infrastructure and building projects.

Role Overview
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will become a valued member of our experienced team, contributing to all aspects of contract and commercial operations. What you'll do
Some of your main duties and responsibilities will include;

Cost Management & Estimating
•    Assist with estimating.
•    Preparation of client costings, valuations and variations.
•    Preparation of reports and budgets, analysing these against targets and presenting to SMT. 
•    Review budgets and implement cost controls as necessary. 
•    Support with preparation for tenders and bid writing. 
•    Review quotations and contracts, within the supply chain, identifying points to be negotiated.

Commercial Administration 
•    Update trackers, risk registers and other project documentation. 
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and electronic systems.
•    Assist with buying, and supply chain administration ensuring logs and trackers are accurate. 
•    Be a point of contact for contract, procurement or other commercial queries, dealing with them appropriately and escalating where necessary.

Working Together 
•    Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders including clients, subcontractors and site teams. 
•    Attend client meetings to represent the business (shadowing at first), handling contract disputes in a professional manner. 
•    Work closely with site teams when making decisions, understanding how it will work in practice
•    Using relationships you have developed, follow up for payments and approach these difficult conversations professionally.

What you'll bring
To succeed as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will require the following;
•    BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management or related discipline. 
•    Minimum 36 weeks (9 months) experience working in a commercial environment.
•    Knowledge of Standard Form Contracts (e.g. NEC)
•    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
•    Confident with IT, and knowledge of MS Office, including excel 
•    Ability to work as part of a team and work collaboratively with others.
•    Hold a full valid driving license and have use of a vehicle for work.
