Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support and advice across our projects, liaising with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally. The salary range for this position is £40,000-£50,000 per annum, based on experience.

What you'll do
Your main tasks will include:

  • Provide commercial support to aid with the delivery of the contracted work
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Commercial review and risk analysis of potential contracts and review of contract documentation
  • External liaison and commercial administration
  • Compile all monthly commercial reporting, ensuring accuracy and completion to agreed timescales
  • Preparation of the forecasting and reporting of costs against value to ensure that it is in line with the contract profitability forecast
  • Ensure the accuracy of the commercial data
  • Procurement of supply chain
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements, provide support and training on both the contract and the schedule of rates to maximize value recovery
  • Provide key commercial and contract information
  • Liaise with management to ensure accuracy of costs, and best practice in material buying
  • Take responsibility regarding health, safety and the environment providing commercial support
  • Preparation of contractual correspondence, both to the supply chain, and key stakeholders
  • Liaise with the client on site and represent the Company at progress meetings where required, in order to provide a customer/client focused approach to the project, and in the resolving of operational and design issues.
  • Client negotiation and dispute resolution
  • Preparation of detailed cashflows

What you'll bring
As a Quantity Surveyor it is essential to have;

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent commercially related discipline
  • 4 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A thorough understanding of commercial issues in the industry
  • Ability to contribute to and work well as part of a team
  • Ability to plan, organise and manage time effectively to achieve deadlines

It would be desirable to have achieved, or be working towards, professional membership of an appropriate organisation such as RICS or ICES etc
