FK Lowry have designed and installed 1200mm diameter continuous flight auger (CFA) piles for their Client, McLaughlin &Harvey, at the King George V Dock in Glasgow.
FK Lowry mobilised one of their high-torque Soilmec SR-95 dual purpose piling rigs to the project to install 9m long 1200mm dia CFA Bearing Piles for the development of the existing infrastructure to create a new facility for the handling, processing, and export of scrap metal.
Works involved the demolition of an existing shed and hardstanding, and the construction of a new metals handling facility for storage and processing of scrap metal. Works also included extensive reinforced concrete paved areas and a piled relieving slab to enable heavy plant to load scrap metal products onto vessels.
