The key sustainability elements of the project included 100% diversion of excavated materials from landfill, the use of a freight train to transport aggregates to site and the pro-active environmental management across the team.

The award is a Whole Team award for the Client (DIO) and Client Representative (AECOM), Designer (Jacobs) and Contractor (GTLC JV) and represents going beyond environmental compliance to achieve distinction in environmental and sustainability performance of their work.
