Dew Piling Ltd has commenced work on the Beckton Peninsula Piling Contract in January 2013, this forms part of the Lee Tunnel Project. The works are located at the Beckton Sewage Treatment Works and involve the installation of a Marine Outfall Cofferdam for Morgan Sindall plc, Vinci Construction and Bachy Solentanche Ltd (MVB) Joint Venture.
The project has a value of close to £500,000 and involves the installation of 55No. pairs of AZ26-700 sheet piles and 33No. pairs of AZ36-700 sheet piles at 20.5 metres in length. There are also 129 metres of 430mm x 100mm Twin Channel Walings to fit which will be welded to the piles to stop lateral movement. The cofferdam will then be tied together with 130 metres of 47mm Dywidag bars. Dew Piling is delighted to be working on this large construction project, an overall value of £635 million.
